James Russell is a drummer and composer originally from New Jersey. He began playing drums at the age of 10 and has been pursuing his passion for music ever since. Upon graduating high school, he served four years in the Marine Corps band where he played in parades, concerts, ceremonies and other events throughout the East Coast. James attended Berklee College of Music after his time in the Marines. He has experience performing in various musical genres such as jazz, funk, fusion, rock, and metal and currently plays drums and writes music for the progressive metal band “Myth of I.” James is committed to helping his students discover their potential and encourage them to flourish in their musical and artistic endeavors.
