Jake has been a student of the drums his entire life.  While studying at the University of New Hampshire where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance, he had the chance to study with Nancy Smith (PSO, Boston Ballet), and Newburyport Native, Les Harris Jr. (The Ritz, Artie Shaw).  While there, Jake gained teaching experience at their Summer Youth Music School (SYMS), a local elementary school, music stores, and private lessons.  He strives to help students become a more musical version of themselves and guides them towards finding self-fulfillment in music.  Jake keeps up a busy performance schedule around New England as a freelance musician and is well-educated in styles including jazz, rock, blues, reggae, bluegrass, and fusion.
