Miranda grew up in Amesbury, where her family shared their love of music with her. From ages 10 to 19, she studied piano and voice from local instructor Bea Jordan. Miranda graduated with a degree in Music Education from UMass Lowell. Here, she has studied piano under several established musicians such as, Thomas Stumpf, Hey Rim Jeon, and Meg Ruby. She is also working towards a minor in Psychology, and participates in a student teaching position with the Music Therapy department at Tewksbury Hospital. Recently, Miranda won the 2014 UMass Lowell Orchestra Concerto Competition with her performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. In addition to the classical style, she has experience teaching jazz and popular genera of piano and voice. Miranda has greatly enjoyed her experiences teaching students of all ages, in private lessons, and at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell. Her goal is to help her students reach a greater level of self-expression through music.
